We are preparing for the second week of Advent and our time of waiting is passing quickly. All around us in the shops there are signs that Christmas, but we know the real meaning of Christmas is about the coming of Jesus our Saviour.

God our Father, as we light our second Advent candle, help us to prepare prayerfully for the birth of your Son, Jesus. Show us ways we can share Christ’s light during Advent, so that the world might know the hope and love that your Son brings. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We listened to a reading about Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem and said prayers for those who are travelling or who are refugees.

An action for the week: is to write a prayer for refugees all over the world, that they may find peace and hope and somewhere to call home.
