Year One Class Liturgy – 20th March 2024 - 2.30pm

“Family”

We welcomed Father Eugene and our families to join us for our Class Liturgy. The theme was ‘Family’ and what it means to belong to a family. We thought about our own families; our school and church families; and our global family. We know that ‘family’ is anyone who loves us and helps us to grow in love. We also know that we ALL belong to God’s family!

During our liturgy, some children acted out the story of when the boy Jesus became lost and how Mary and Joseph eventually found Him in the temple. We reflected upon Jesus’s family on earth and how He was obedient to them until He was a grown man.

We ended our liturgy with a prayer to our class saint, Saint Joseph, Jesus’s foster father:

St. Joseph,
watch over me
and care for me
just as you cared for
the child Jesus;
and by your help,
may I come to know
your Son,
and so grow
in strength
and wisdom
and the favour of God.
Amen.
