Holy Family Catholic Primary School

A day at Holy Family

Our school day starts at 8.45am. To help with the traffic outside, we allow children into the hall from 8.30am.

Breaktime for children in KS2 is from 10.15 - 10.30am and for children in KS1 is from 10.30-10.45am.  The children play outside unless it is really raining, so please ensure your child has a suitable coat for the weather.  Children are also able to bring in wellington boots and play on the field (again weather dependent).

Lunchtime is from 12noon - 1pm for children in KS2 and from 12.20 - 1.20 for children in KS1.  Lunch is eaten in the school hall. Children may bring a packed lunch from home or have a cooked meal from the kitchen.  Meals are provided free of charge for children in KS1, for children in KS2 the cost is £2.30 per day.  Parents can pay cash in advance or pay via ParentPay - see office for details.

Teachers will let you know which days are PE days and children may wear their PE kit to school on these days.

The school day finishes at 3.20pm and parents collect the children from the main KS2 classroom.  Please arrive promptly, but not too early as the gates are not opened until after 3.10pm.

Each class has a day each term when they take part in Forest School activities - children wear old clothing and are outside most of the day.

Each class has a Class Dojo and we use this as our main communication tool to keep you fully up to date with what we have been doing and what is coming up soon.  Your child's class teacher will send you a link to sign up.  It is a very secure site and children's personal portfolios can only be seen by the parents linked to their account and the school story can only be seen by parents linked to the school. All requests to join the school are checked before being approved by Holy Family staff.

Our newsletters and letters are all sent via the Class Dojo, email and loaded onto the website.  If you do think you are missing any information please contact us.

We often visit Holy Family Church for Mass, and Fr Eugene celebrates Mass at school regularly.  You will also be invited in for Class Assemblies and Class Masses throughout the year.
