Holy Family Catholic Primary School

Year 2 – Saint Francis of Assisi

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a lovely Easter and are looking forward to the term ahead. Year 2 have been a delight to teach so far and I am looking forward to guiding them through the summer term.

We will have PE on a Monday as before. Just a reminder that PE kits (a red t-shirt, white shorts and plimsolls) should be left in school at all times. Swimming lessons will be on Thursday afternoons, the first on 25th April.

Reading books will continue to be changed every Tuesday. The children will need their books in school every day and it would be fantastic if you could continue to read with your child as regularly as possible at home.

Our new topic will be centred around famous historical women. We will be learning about the work of Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale.  This will give Year 2 the opportunity to study changes in history and science. This will include a visit from a theatre company.

Mrs Bush will continue to support Year 2 in class every morning.

Please don’t hesitate to make an appointment to see me if you have any issues you would like to discuss. If you want to find out more about the curriculum to be covered this term please come in.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Standing
