Prevent
The Prevent Duty is part of our safeguarding work. It aims to protect children and young people from being drawn into extremism or terrorism.
The government’s Act Early website provides clear advice for parents, carers, and friends who may be worried that someone they know is at risk of radicalisation.
-
Children as young as 13 years old have been arrested in recent years in connection with terrorism offences, with many cases linked to online radicalisation.
-
Extremist groups continue to exploit social media, gaming platforms, and private messaging apps to reach young people.
-
Family, friends, and schools play a vital role in spotting early warning signs and seeking support.
👉 If you are worried about someone, you can call the Prevent advice line on 0800 011 3764 for confidential guidance.
