First Week Back

A great first week back for Year 5. I have been thoroughly impressed with how the children have easily slipped back into the routine, no issues - it almost felt like we hadn't been away!

We spent the week recapping our expectations for work and behaviour, as well as start our Brazilian topic by getting involved with some Samba dancing!

Year 5 particularly impressed me with their writing ability this week - writing a newspaper biography about them turning 100, and a wishing tale all about our class mascot, Wilbur. Some excellent writing, but a particular well done to Kamsi and Alicja who took home marvellous work this week!

I have reset the pupil data for TT rockstars (to the protests from some of the children!) and they have begun to set their rock speeds again - please practise as often as possible at home!

Also handed out were new reading books - I have moved many of the children up a band or two, please read as often as possible at home - as this is simply the best way to help children improve and love their reading!

There have been some truly outstanding pupils this week - I have been truly blessed to have  such positive and respectful pupils. I could have given numerous golden tickets out this week - a special mention to Ava and Aibee who I thought have had their best weeks yet, particularly helping others and putting great effort into their writing. Andrew, Przemus, Maude and Kornelia also received tickets!

Keep an eye out next week for letters about our Bristol Zoo trip!
