Making our TV chocolate advert

Today, we watched a number of TV adverts from different decades and commented upon the similarities and contrasts of the techniques used. We observed how modern day adverts use a lot more humour and ‘hyperbole,’ whereas older adverts from the 60’s were a lot less sophisticated. Both used slogans, jingles and were aspirational,  in the hope of persuading their audience to buy the product. In groups, we created and performed our own adverts to sell a new brand of Maya chocolate that reflected the techniques contemporary advertisers use. We had a lot of fun making and performing our adverts.
