Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to Holy Family Catholic Primary School.
I have worked at Holy Family since 2019 and feel very privileged to work alongside the staff, pupils and parents of such a wonderful school. I initially came as Deputy Headteacher, was Acting Headteacher for a year and have been the permanent Headteacher since April 2022.
Every member of staff knows and cares for every child at Holy Family School. This compassionate ethos is promoted at all times and is recognised as a strength of Holy Family by parents and inspectors alike. Our Ofsted report states that the school, "Gives a warm welcome to pupils and families from all over the world. Pupils’ different experiences and abilities are celebrated daily. New pupils and their families quickly become a valued part of the school community."
Within that caring ethos, we also seek to maximise every child’s potential, by working together with parents. We strive to ensure there is challenge in every lesson to stretch the minds of all students. Across the curriculum, we will develop creativity, curiosity, initiative, independence and most importantly your child’s confidence and self-belief. You will have numerous opportunities to participate in this by supporting your child with learning projects at home and in school.
At Holy Family we aim to support our pupils in becoming happy, self-assured, creative, skilled, polite, respectful, caring human beings. The staff are excellent role models in how to communicate, care for and value others. In learning to live our Mission Statement, and with the social teaching of the Church at the heart of our curriculum, the children learn to understand how to extend this caring for themselves and each other, to the local parish and wider world. They also learn to respect the environment by participating in Forest School sessions.
We are very proud here to a part of the Building the Kingdom programme. All children at Holy Family are encouraged to be change makers and the 'leaders of tomorrow'. You can read more about this fantastic programme here.
We endeavour to enrich the children’s learning through creative planning of unique experiences, educational trips, visitors to schools, imaginative programmes of learning and themed weeks.
The school website offers more information about the school and details about our rich and vibrant curriculum. However, at Holy Family we are always available for questions, so if there is anything that you need to know just pop into the office, speak to a member of staff on the playground or send an email.
I look forward to welcoming you into the Holy Family Primary School community.
